APGA Scholarship Essay Contest

An educational grant will be awarded to the female and male essay winners. Grade levels 9-12 are strongly encouraged to apply.

DEADLINE: Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:59pm EST

PROMPT: Physical fitness plays a significant role in the overall development of children and adolescents. From building healthy habits to supporting mental and emotional well-being, regular physical activity can impact a young person’s life in both the short and long term. Write a 500-word essay that explores the role of physical fitness and explains why it is important to develop physical fitness habits at an early age. In your response, consider the physical, mental, social, and academic benefits of fitness, as well as the potential consequences of inactivity. You may use examples from personal experience, observation, or research to support your ideas.
