PDP SUMMIT CONCLUDES AT GOLF PERFORMANCE CENTER
RIDGEFIELD, CT – The World Wide Technology Advocates Professional Golf Association (APGA) Player Development Program Summit, hosted by The Golf Performance Center (GPC) in Ridgefield, Connecticut, successfully concluded yesterday, Wednesday, April 9th. The three-day summit, which ran from Monday, April 7th, provided eight promising PDP players with comprehensive evaluations and development insights aimed at propelling their careers to the highest levels of professional golf.
The APGA PDP underscores a commitment to elevating top APGA players both on and off the course. Through structured support encompassing expert coaching, tailored training regimens, and valuable professional development opportunities, the program is strategically designed to help players successfully navigate the path to the Korn Ferry Tour, PGA TOUR, and other elite professional circuits.
World Wide Technology (WWT) serves as the title partner and primary funder for this impactful program, demonstrating their dedication to fostering diversity and opportunity within the sport of golf. The Golf Performance Center (GPC) and the Player Development Index (PDI) generously hosted the Summit at their state-of-the-art training facility in Ridgefield, CT, providing an invaluable in-kind donation to the APGA and its players.
A key component of the Summit was the Full PDI Assessment, a rigorous evaluation designed to provide a holistic understanding of each player’s strengths and areas for improvement. The full PDI encompasses 17 physical assessments, a detailed analysis of 139 golf shots covering driving accuracy, ball flight control, wedge shots, and putting, 80 mental performance questions, a short-game scoring assessment, and the inclusion of the players’ last 10 rounds of tournament performance scoring average, resulting in an Index score between 0-100.
The Coach-Guided Assessment (CGA) of the PDI, a distilled version focusing on proven key performance indicators, was also highlighted during the summit. Golfers interested in experiencing their own CGA can locate a PDI Certified Coach through the Coach Locator available at www.golfpdi.com.
